Tuesday & Thursday

One bad hole should not ruin your day.

That is why most of our singles competitions use Stableford scoring.

It suits the standard and spirit of Loft Golf. A difficult hole can be left behind, allowing players to reset, keep competing and continue enjoying the round.

Three days. Two different moods.

Organised when it matters.
Relaxed when it suits.

Tuesday Thursday

The competition days

Entries are organised, playing groups are randomly drawn and the competition format is set in advance. Most weeks that means singles Stableford, with pairs or team golf introduced when numbers work.

Sunday

The relaxed day

Sunday is deliberately less formal. There is no random draw and the golfers attending decide what format they would like to play on the day.

Turn up, agree the game and enjoy the golf.

The annual calendar

Events worth
looking forward to.

Alongside regular weekly golf, several competitions give the year its shape and create the occasions members remember.

May

Two-round Stableford

Coronation Cup

Introduced to commemorate King Charles III's coronation and usually played around its anniversary. Two rounds reward consistency while still giving players a chance to recover from a difficult opening day.

36 holes
Oct

One-round Stableford

The Loft Open

One of the best-attended dates in the calendar. A single round, a strong field and the atmosphere of a proper society occasion.

18 holes
All year

Head-to-head knockout

Annual Match Play

Played across the season, with a must-be-played-by date for every round. The deadlines keep the draw moving and ensure a champion is decided before the year ends.

December tradition

The Christmas
Scrumble.

No, it is not a spelling mistake.

A former member always called a Texas Scramble a “Scrumble”. The name stuck and grew into one of Loft Golf's most distinctive traditions: a festive, light-hearted and decidedly drink-laden end to the year.

The draw matters

You do not choose
who you play with.

Singles groups, pairs and teams are drawn at random. It keeps the golf fair, mixes the membership and means a competition can introduce you to someone you may not otherwise have played alongside.

Competitive enough to matter.
Friendly enough to enjoy.

Whether it is a regular Stableford, a season-long knockout or a Christmas Scrumble, every event is designed to bring people together.
